Apothecary

I have always been enchanted by folk herbalism, the kind of herbalism that whispers it's wisdom from your bones, calling you to remember how the earth speaks, moving your voice to sing the language of flowers you once knew.

I bought Scott Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs when I was in my early 20s, and it set the stage for the magical underpinnings of my vision for Country Way, my first flower shop. I even hinted at my love for folk herbalism in naming my business.

When designing weddings and events, the magic wasn't spoken, but it was tucked into bouquets and arrangements: rosemary boutonnieres to remember the ancestors, roses to open the heart to love, lavender to calm and soothe the nerves.

The birth of From the Earth Creative brought a desire to expand my Floral Arts more overtly into the healing arts to include folk herbalism in a more profound way.  Included in my studies are: Intermediate Herbalism with Herbal Academy, Intuitive Plant Medicine with Asia Suler | One Willow Apothecaries, Flower Therapy Healer Certification with Robert Reeves, and Bach Flower Remedy Practitioner with the Bach Centre in England.

The flowers, trees and plants speak to us in rhythms of growth.
